[vent] *sighs* the silly buggers (aka The Inland Revenue & Bexley Council) taxed me & took money for the employee's pension scheme so, although it was lovely to get paid at last, I'm currently about ?210 light!

Apparently, unless I told them when I started the job that I didn't want to be in the pension scheme (and that would mean that I would have to be telepathic seeing as no-one informed me of that! ), I'm automatically enrolled in it. So now I have to fill out a form so that I can be reimbursed. As for being taxed.....well, I shouldn't be cos I only do 15 hours per week and my gross pay in less than the permitted non-taxable allowance!

Gawd! Why is nothing straightforward?!!! [/vent]

Laura had that problem with the tax people when she started her job. Apparently they automatically put you on some sort of emergency tax coding and you need to fill in a form to get it back. You will get it all back it justs takes a bit of time for the tax people to process the forms.

I've got the P46 form to fill out so that I can reclaim the tax but it's a nuisance that I have to chase up my money. It'd be fab if the Inland revenue got it right - just for once! forums *lol*
